We’re going to throw 10 essential tips, tricks and cheats at you hardcore Sonic Jump players out there. By the end of this list, you’ll pocket more rings and beat every level in lesser times than your buddies.

And for you hardcore tech heads out there who’re looking to cheat a little bit, check out the Android smartphone friendly tutorial above.

The Strategy Guide

Sonic Jump Fever is a new free Doodle Jump-esque affair for the iOS and Android platforms. You get to play as Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, and your goal is to jump through vertical versions of popular Sonic levels from the past in the pursuit of collecting rings, rescuing animals, and destroying badniks. Read on for some tips and tricks for Sonic Jump Fever!

You use up one life each time that you play a level, and normally, you have to wait around 20 minutes for a life to be restored. If you want to restore all of your lives immediately instead, go to the date and time settings on your phone or device and set the time ahead to get all of your lives back immediately.

Next, if you want to keep all of the settings on your phone normal, go to the date and time settings (after going back to Sonic Jump Fever) and set the time back to normal. Then go back to Sonic Jump and all of your energy will still be there. This trick doesn’t work with unlocking new stages (you still have to wait for those), but it always works for your energy.

If you want to get free rings, log into Facebook and Twitter, or you can watch free advertisement videos and complete offers on Tapjoy. If you want to get free Red Star Rings, logging into Facebook will earn them for you, as will gaining experience levels, which simply involves playing more and earning a higher score.

Get the highest score possible by not dying on a stage, because when you die, your fever level goes back down. Rescue as many animals, collect as many rings, and especially knock off as many badniks and TVs as you can so that you can get the longest combo possible. The bigger your combo, the more points you earn, by far.

Want to play without all of the advertisements? Then simply set your phone into airplane mode, or turn off all of the data and the 3G and the wifi, and the advertisements will quit popping up after every level. You can also make a purchase in the IAP store to get the ads to disappear permanently.

Plot
In Sonic Jump's introduction, Dr. Eggman kidnaps animal friends, cages them in the prison unit of his Egg Mobile and flies with them high into the sky. When the chosen playable character witnesses the kidnapping, he/she decides to follow and stop the doctor to free the animal friends from their prisons.

Gameplay
Like in the original Sonic Jump game, the goal is to get to the Goal Plate at the end of each act by jumping up from one platform to another. Like normally in Sonic games, collecting rings will protect the player from Badniks or spikes. The only way the player can defeat Badniks is to attack their underside. However, if the playable character falls down, the stage is restarted at the beginning of the act. Also, as the player bounces higher, camera follows as well and does not scroll down if the player does fall down. There are different types of platforms, as the more sensitive ones will collapse when the player steps on them. Each playable character has their own abilities to survive from many situations.

In addition to normal rings, the game has three collectible Red Rings per act. The game has springs which bounce the player higher. The game has also monitors, which usually contain different kinds of shields, bombs, magnets or shoes. There are also ring banks, which deposit the rings that the player has collected. With these rings, the player can purchase various items from the in-game store like characters, power-ups or wallpapers. The player can also pay to purchase more rings or characters.

The game has two modes: Story and Arcade. Story mode includes 48 levels, as each zone contains twelve acts and follows the game's plot. The story mode has also three bonus missions per act. The arcade mode is an infinite challenge, which only ends when the player falls or dies by hitting badnik or spikes. The player can challenge other players in Arcade mode to get the highest score on the leaderboards.

It was announced that the game will have free updates, including more playable characters and zones.

Tips

1. Getting free rings.
Rings is your primary currency in game and luckily we can have it for free even without playing the game. If you found that it is difficult for you to  play the game and even in getting rings is another tough challenge for you, you must get it for free. The trick here is to just log in to Facebook and Twitter account and you will be compensated. You can also watch free advertisement videos and completing offers on Tapjoy to acquire easy rings. There is also a way for you to accquire Red Star Rings by just logging into Facebook through games. This will not only give you currency but also experience.

2. Unlimited lives cheat.
Every time you play the game, you need to consume one life which automatically replenish over 20 minutes. Now with the help of Sonic Jump Fever cheats you can have unlimited lives through time lapse glitch. Fortunately Sega doesn’t fixed this bug yet so we can still use this to earn advantage but we can’t say if this will work permanently. So as long as this is working, just take the risk of playing the game without any lives limit. So the trick here is to change the time of your gadget ahead of 20 minutes for every life. Instead of waiting for it, you can advance the time of your device equals to number of minutes or even hours you need to wait for your energy to replenish. After changing the hours/minutes of your gadget, you can bring it back to the exact hours so it will not bother you in the future. You can do this trick as many times as you want just those little disclaimer and caution. Unlike with other apps that you can use this glitch in everything as time is concern, you can’t use it in Sonic Jump Fever to unlock new stages.

3. Getting higher score.
The best method to earn lots of score is to stay longer in the game. Yes you can get rings for extra points but if this will only risk your life, it is better to stay safe so you have a better chance to play the game longer. You must also remember that upon dying, your fever level goes back down so losing your run is not really a good idea. You can also consider rescuing as many animals and knocking off as many badniks for additional points while doing it under chain combo.

4. Removing ads in game cheat.

The game offers premium purchase to remove those advertisement as this is really annoying especially in this kind of game. But actually there is a cheat to remove it without paying anything. The trick here is to simply set your phone into airplane mode and turn off all of the data as well as Wi-Fi  and 3G and you will experience that those ads will stop popping up after every level. Though this is the for the sake of developers in making a profit as well as for players who wish to support the game and for Sega to be inspired in developing new apps for free. So if you really want to support them, you can spend money in removing those advertisement or just let that advertisement goes round or else you can do the cheat with your risk.

5. The Basics Behind Attacking Enemies
Sonic makes his way up more than anything, so it’s good to know the best way to approach enemies. If you wanna keep all those rings you’ve collected, then make sure you smash into enemies from below while Sonic is still spinning in his little ball form. This is pretty Sonic knowledge but we’re gonna make sure you uninformed gamers know about it – if Sonic doesn’t have any rings in tow, the next hit will take him out.

6. There’s More Than One Character to Play With
Besides the titular blue hero, there’s more characters to play with. Your personal level progression helps you unlock more of Sonic’s longtime partners. At level 17, you’ll unlock Tails. At level 20, you’ll unlock Knuckles. Once you head to the store tab and click on the character tab, you’ll get to utilize your new characters. The updates for Sonic Jump also added a few more notable series characters that you can control – Amy Rose, Blaze The Cat (complete the Global Challenge mode), Rouge the Bat and Silver the Hedgehog.

7. Bank Your Rings As Much As Possible
Your rings are your lifeline. Always keep your eyes out for safes so you can bank them and keep theme protected once you get harmed.

8. The Difference Between Arcade Mode and Story Mode

All of the levels in the Story mode are fixed and unchanging, so you can work through them safe in the knowledge that any restarts will be familiar. The Arcade mode is there for you to take part in an endless version of the game where the goal is simply to reach as high up in the sky as you can.

9. Purchase and Equip the Blast Off Ability ASAP
There’s an essential powerup that will get you off to a higher start point on any stage. Purchase and equip the Blast Off ability so you can take Sonic and his friends to a higher platform on any level.

10. Take Advantage of the Bounce Back Ability, Too
As for the Bounce Back ability, this boost will protect you from a single dangerous jump. Note that this boost can only be used one time during the current level you’re playing.

11. Here’s The Key to Getting The Best Rating on a Level
When you’re making your stage run’s through Story Mode, keep an eye out for those huge red rings. Try and collect all three of those pickup’s on any level if you’re looking to get a perfect rating. They may be incredibly hard-to-reach, but nabbing them will give you the best score possible.

12. Know When to Use Those Double Jump’s

Double jumping is done by double tapping the screen. Use this ability sparingly since you don’t wanna jump too much to your doom. Time your jumps accordingly and make sure you use your double jumps at those super tricky platforms.

13. How does the gameplay work in Sonic Jump Fever?
It's very similar to Sonic Jump, where you tilt your device to guide your character up a series of walkways and ramps, while bouncing upwards into enemies and collecting rings. You can also free animals to collect at the end of the stage for bonus rings (by flinging them into a waiting blimp) and collect occasional power-ups, including a rocket boost and temporary shield.

This time around, however, you have unlimited tries, so if you fall off a stage, you can use a cannon to blast back into it. You have about a minute's time in order to collect as many rings as you can and boost your score. At the end, your score is tallied, and then posted to the leaderboards, so you can try to keep up with your friends. It's a nice twist on the theme, although, sadly, you have to start out with Sonic's buddy Tails, instead of the Hedgehog himself.

14. What's the best way to collect points and rings in Sonic Jump Fever?
The best thing to do is keep an eye open for enemies and strings of rings. They'll be easily noticeable as you work your way up. Collect as many as you can, and defeat as many enemies as possible, and you'll begin to build up a Fever meter on the bottom of the screen. Once this builds up, you'll be able to activate a bonus round, with the opportunity to collect even more rings.

Oh, and keep an eye open for red rings. These're worth the most in the game, as you'll use these to unlock new characters and stages.

15. How do power-ups work in Sonic Jump Fever?
There are two types. The first are temporary power-ups that you can use to get further in the stage, including the shield and the rocket boost. The second are supplementary power-ups that you can activate before the game begins, and they'll aid you throughout. These may include a boost ahead in the stage, or a gold totem that provides you bonus rings each time you run into one.

These power-ups cost extra rings to unlock, or you can use in-game cash to buy more red rings (more on that in a second) and stockpile your funds. It's your choice, of course.

16. Who's the best character to use in Sonic Jump Fever?
Sonic is obviously the most iconic, but, surprisingly enough, all these characters play the same. Sonic provides more familiarity than Tails ever will, but if you aren't in a hurry to unlock them all, you'll find the game still satisfactory to play, no matter who you choose to play it with.

17. Do I need to pay for anything in Sonic Jump Fever?
Red rings in the game are sold from anywhere from $.99 to $99.99, and you're going to need them, as each time you play will take away from a charge meter that you'll either need to refill with 40 rings or waiting out. You'll also need red rings to purchase new characters and levels, although you can use regular gold ones to purchase power-ups and other little goodies. Spend accordingly, though.

18. Unlock Amy as soon as possible.
This is the best tip, so I'm giving it to you first. She's not as expensive to unlock as Blaze or Knuckles, and she's by far the best character in the game. Her jumping hammer attack not only takes out nearby enemies, it also collects any goodies it comes in contact with. Her wide reach makes it easier to score points, rack up combos, enter Fever mode, and collect things. No other character has anything that even remotely compensates. Don't even waste your red rings on the others.

19. Make sure you get your free daily spin.
The regular version of the spin doesn't have much to offer, but as you move up through the 'good' and 'great' boards, the rewards start to get really good. You can win tons of red rings, free Chao searches, premium boost power-ups, or even a bunch of character tokens. Note that it's not connected to the date on the calendar, but rather it's that after taking a spin, you have to wait 24 hours before you get another one. It's good to set this to a consistent time, like just before bed or when you're on your usual coffee break.

20. Focus on either rings, points, or collectibles.

You can't have it every way during a run. Coins are over here, enemies are over there, grabbing that red ring will cause you to lose time, and all of these are at odds with each other. If you're in it for rings, equip a ring-collecting Hero or Neutral Chao, and focus in-game on collecting the rings and triggering Fever mode. If it's points you're after, equip a Dark Chao, aim for all the bad guys, and focus on extending your combos so that you can trigger Fever mode as many times as possible. Don't forget to free animal buddies on the way as they can boost your score significantly. If it's collectibles you're chasing, use the Chao that rescues you from falling, keep your eyes peeled, and avoid long combos because you can miss items if you enter Fever mode without collecting them.

21. Spend rings on upgrading your chosen character first.
Upgrading your character increases the duration of the power-ups you collect in-game. It's best to upgrade each of them on your chosen character until they're at the point that the next upgrade costs 9,100 rings. Once you reach that point, just leave them be for now. You have bigger fish to fry with those gold rings. Be careful about upgrading every character, too, since every upgrade goes towards increasing the Fever meter for everyone.

22. Don't level up your Fever too quickly.
Every time you increase your Fever level, you'll move up the ladder of Fever patterns. Each pattern has a different distribution of rings and point bubbles. The higher your level becomes, the more those patterns tend to favor point bubbles over rings, severely cutting down on how many rings you can collect per run. If you trigger Fever more than once in a run, you can see what the next pattern looks like, and the one after that, and so on. When the rings start drying up, it's not a bad idea to hold off on upgrades until you've amassed a bunch of gold rings.

23. Don't pull a Chao without full energy.
You can pull a Chao for 3,000 rings or by using a Chao search item won from the daily spin. Don't use these unless you have full energy. The minute you pull a Chao, a timer starts counting down. You can only use the Chao until it expires, and playing with it goes towards permanently unlocking it. The level three Chaos give you a mere hour, so if you pull one with an empty energy meter, you've basically wasted half of your chances to use it. On a similar note, if you're just getting in a quick game while waiting in a line-up or at the bus stop, it's probably not a good time to use a Chao search. You want to be able to at least spend an entire energy gauge playing with it to get the most bang for your pull.

24. Learn the pattern of your Fever level.
As I mentioned in an earlier tip, when you enable Fever mode, the patterns are always consistent with your Fever level. They'll always have the same shapes and distributions of goodies, so you can just memorize them in order to make the most out of them. Fever mode is a great source of points and rings, so squeezing everything you can out of it is very important to achieving high scores.

25. Hoard your boost power-ups for the right opportunity.

Well, you don't have to hoard all of them, but you'll want to hang on to your best ones for when you have the best chance of making a high score. That means you probably don't want to use them early on when you're unlocking characters and powering them up. They'll serve you far better when you've progressed your Fever level into the patterns with more point bubbles. You'll also want to save your boosts for the right stage. The Jungle Zone is kind of a waste if you're trying to earn a high score or go really far. The vines block your progress and between fly traps, vines that shoot out and pull you down, and collapsing floors, it's easy to slip up here. The Mechanical Zone is far more open with plenty of things to keep your combo streak going. The Green Hill Zone is a pretty good place to make a high score run, too, but watch out for spikes.
